The Equine Doctors
Dr. Alltop, DVM
Dr Alltop, is the founder of the practice. He is an transplant to the area as grew up on farms in southern Ohio. Post high school, moved to Arizona and completed a Bachelor's of Science in Veterinary Science from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. While at the UofA, he truly started down the path that landed him here in Benson when he started working for an equine practice in Tucson. Several years spent working for this practice were highly influential on who he is as a person and a doctor. He will often call the doctors there his mentors and friends. Thanks to the opportunity he received there he was accepted into multiple veterinary school programs and elected to attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, AL where he earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine. Along the way, he has been fortunate to have had the opportunities to seek advance equine training be it through additional equine rotations at Auburn, externships, and other educational opportunities. He is a major supporter of continuing education and attends the yearly American Association of Equine Practitioner convention but also hosts several client based talks throughout the year. During his time in practice, he has developed a passion for hoof related lameness and continues to seek additional knowledge on the topic having developed a strong relationship with the Equine Lameness Prevention Organization, a farrier organization focused on research and improving hoof care in equids. His passion for education is leading him down a path to instruct more and add additional certifications to his resume. Outside of the practice, he is trying to manage an ever developing relationship with an even more career oriented veterinarian that is actively doing advance training across the country. Though seems his desire to grow and expand the quality of care in the area encompasses much of his time.
